MMSF Top 10 Week Nine

Every Monday here on the Blog and later on the show we unveil our top 10 in college football. These rankings are based on this week only, it is not a prediction for how we feel the season will end. Click here to see the latest rankings for the Associated Press and the Coaches Polls.
  1. Oregon 8-0 (1) - Everyone says Auburn's Cam Newton has the Heisman Trophy wrapped up. I don't doubt that, but I do think the Ducks LaMichael James is closer to winning that worthless award than you think.
  2. Auburn 9-0 (3) - Speaking of Newton, did you see his touchdown catch against Ole Miss? That's right, catch. Just an unreal athlete that if Auburn didn't have on their roster would have the Tigers sitting at about 5 or 6 wins instead of 9.
  3. Boise State 7-0 (2) - It's just tough for a team in the WAC to make the BCS title game. No loss team's like Oregon and Auburn, and even one loss Alabama, come from the power conferences and will likely make that title game over the Broncos. Plus, Boise playing on a Tuesday night makes it tough for them to stay relevant.
  4. TCU 9-0 (4) - The biggest game of the weekend will be the Horned Frogs traveling to take on the Utes of Utah. If that doesn't tell you about the parity in college football I don't know what would.
  5. Alabama 7-1 (7) - Looky looky, the Tide are all the way back up to fifth in the country. Won't be long until they are nipping at the heels of Boise State and Oregon.
  6. Utah 8-0 (9) - Quick, name one player on Utah. Can't do it? Don't worry, you may not have to get to know this team. Beat TCU and that changes. Lose to TCU and...
  7. Wisconsin 7-1 (8) - The Badgers, with super running backs John Clay and James White, are slowly working their way back up the rankings. Scony should be in the Rose Bowl, but the real issue is the fact that Ohio State will also be in a BCS bowl from the Big 10. The Buckeyes have as many quality wins as Syracuse does, actually SU has more!
  8. Nebraska 7-1 (NR) - Since the Cornhuskers anemic 20 -13 loss to Texas (in Lincoln) Nebraska has put up 82 points in two straight games against ranked opponents!
  9. Oklahoma 7-1 (NR) - Three of OU's last four games are on the road which should really tell us something about the Sooners.
  10. LSU - 7-1 (10) - Yes, the Tigers had a bye this past weekend, but something tells me head coach Les Miles was somewhere completely messing up something yet still coming out on top.
